On November 5, 2011, the MWP hosted its second annual Salon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City, Utah. We will be adding segments periodically over the next couple of weeks.

Part 1 – Published November 22, 2011

The first part of the Salon 2011 includes MWP founder Neylan McBaine’s opening remarks, a short film produced by Meredith and Cory LeSueur of Mainport Media, and the keynote address by Emma Lou Thayne.

 

Part 2 – Published December 5, 2011

“Finding Power in Service.” Amy Antonelli, former director of Rising Star Outreach which serves leprosy patients in India, speaks about her six years in India. Amy also expounds on general principles of service which can apply to each of our lives.

 

Part 3 – Published December 28, 2011

“Finding Power in Your Spiritual Heritage.” Kate Holbrook is the specialist in Women’s History for the LDS Church History Department. She is a Ph.D. candidate in Religious Studies at Boston University, where her dissertation is an analysis of 20th century Mormon and Nation of Islam food habits. Her research includes studying cookbooks and homemaking manuals.
