Interview Editor

Job Description:

Our vast digital library of women in the Church is the heart and soul of the MWP. This position will oversee the existing library and work to expand it in content and diversity. Publish an interview bi-weekly. This editor will work closely with other MWP team members to produce meaningful and edifying content. The Interview Editor is a key member of our team and reports to the Editor-in-Chief.

This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation. The anticipated workload is 4-6 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing interview library
  • Create and maintain a publishing calendar for interviews
  • Manage and support our team of interview producers
  • Hire and train new interview producers
  • Review and approve interview nominations
  • Work with producers to prepare interviews for publication (ie, copy-edit, give feedback, ensure all forms are completed properly).
  • Produce interviews
  • Report status of interviews and interview team to Editor-in-Chief
  • Attend monthly team meeting via conference call (one hour)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership role where you managed at least one other person
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent English reading and writing skills
  • Experience with copy-editing
  • Experience with recording personal narratives and/or family stories
  • Be well organized, proactive, and work independently

Worship Content Editor

Job Description:

The MWP is committed to providing content created by women in the Church that helps to bring a female perspective to individual and church worship. This position will oversee the existing library of Sunday School supplements and will edit new content. This year, we are launching our gospel topic essays. The Worship Content Editor will oversee this project and publish bi-weekly. She will also work closely with other MWP team members to produce meaningful and edifying content. The Workship Content Editor is a key member of our team and reports to the Editor-in-Chief.

This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation. The anticipated workload is 4-6 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing supplement library
  • Create and maintain a publishing calendar
  • Manage and support our team of contributors
  • Hire and train new contributors
  • Work with contributors to prepare content for publication (ie, copy-edit, give feedback, etc).
  • Created content
  • Report status of essays, projects, and contributor team to Editor-in-Chief
  • Attend monthly team meeting via conference call (one hour)

Podcast Editor

Job Description:

The podcast editor will oversee the existing library of podcasts and the development of new content. This position will handle all aspects of editing and publishing podcasts. She will also work closely with other MWP team members to produce meaningful and edifying content. The Podcast Editor is a key member of our team and reports to the Editor-in-Chief.

This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation. The anticipated workload is 3-4 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing podcast library
  • Create and maintain a publishing calendar
  • Edit raw audio for publication
  • Report status of essays, projects, and contributor team to Editor-in-Chief
  • Attend monthly team meeting via conference call (one hour)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with audio editing software
  • Experience with editing and publishing podcasts
  • Knowledge of podcast platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be well organized, proactive, and work independently

Fundraising Manager

Job Description:

The MWP is a 501(c)(3) and looking for a dynamic individual to help us grow our fundraising. This position will work with the Editor-in-chief to establish annual target goals and then will develop a plan for reaching those goals (ie. annual giving campaign, grant writing, direct asks, and subscription giving). The Fundraising Manager is a key member of our team and reports to the Editor-in-Chief.

This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation. The anticipated workload is 2-3 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a fundraising target
  • Create an actional plan for meeting fundraising target
  • Develop fundraising initiatives
  • Track donations
  • Research and apply for grants
  • Solicite donations
  • Plan and execute an annual fundraising campaign
  • Report to advisory board and editor-in-chief at quarterly meetings
  • Collaborate with the advisory board on fundraising
  • Attend monthly team meeting via conference call (one hour)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fundraising
  • Experience with grant writing
  • Marketing experience
  • Be well organized, proactive, and work independently

Transcribers

The MWP is looking for volunteers to transcribe the recorded interviews. Time commitment will vary depending on the length of the interview and the speed of the transcription, but each interview will likely take between 4-7 hours. One interview per month.
